Monday

Today Norma and I were going to paint her depot, but the Haitian workers were doing some concrete repair, so we moved on to another "project". We went to the hospital and sang to the patients and Norma passed out granola bars. A few times they sang along with us in Creole.  Alyssa, Conrad, and Quincy joined us and then we eent back to the Luginbuhl house for snacks.
After lunch we painted kitchen cupboards at the Klopfenstein house. A couple of the wall cabinets needed to be repaired and sanded first, so Rudy did get to spend some time in the shop. He also repaired the dinner bell in the guest house - very important.
This evening Dr. Marquet (sp?) And his wife along withthe head nurse from King's Hospital joined us. They all worked at Hospital Lumiere a number of years back. It was very interesting to talk with the Dr after supper '-to hear his perspective on many things.
We babysat the Hartzler children for awhile this evening, while the missionaries had their weekly meeting. We lost power towards the end, so I was reading a book by flashlight. Normally, the power is off between noon and 5:30 and then on until 11pm. Not sure what happened. We did go out on the roof when Eric and Jami came home to look at the stars. We also checked out a couple of tarantulas on the rock wall. One was a pretty good size!
